Our Community Involvement in Wooster, Ohio
Plenty of businesses say they give back. Fewer will tell you exactly where the money went.
Wooster Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram backs community involvement in Wooster, OH with named, ongoing partnerships. We funded the LED scoreboard at Follis Field, gave $2,500 to the Wayne County Sheriff's K9 Fund, and have joined Adopt-A-Family five years running.
We have sold and serviced vehicles from 2626 Cleveland Rd for more than four decades. Our employees live here, and their kids go to school here. Below is a plain accounting of who we support, what we gave, and how often.
Why Community Involvement Matters in a County This Size
Wayne County is home to about 116,000 people, and roughly 27,000 of them live in Wooster. In a county this size, reputation is not something a business can buy. It is something neighbors verify.
More than 76% of households here own their homes, and the average household keeps two vehicles. People put down roots and buy from businesses they trust over decades. That is why Wooster CDJR would rather show you receipts than run an ad about caring.
The need is real, too. About 13% of Wayne County residents face food insecurity, or roughly 15,220 people, according to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's 2025 data.
From Follis Field to Summer Camp
Wooster Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram purchased and installed the LED scoreboard at Follis Field, home of Wooster High School football and one of the largest LED scoreboards in Wayne County. This year we followed that with a $3,000 donation to upgrade the stadium's audio system. Announcements, the anthem, and the band now come through clearly for everyone in the stands.
Inside the gym, we purchased the school's entire indoor digital scorekeeper table. It is used at every indoor sporting event the school hosts, including basketball, volleyball, and wrestling.
Our support for local kids does not stop at the varsity level. Every year we sponsor four children to attend YMCA of Wayne County summer camp. Our team has donated to the Hoover Ladies Lacrosse program and to a long list of other youth sports teams across the area. Not every kid who needs a jersey is on a varsity roster.
"Thank you so much for sponsoring our annual fundraiser. Your support truly makes a difference. Because of you we are able to live out our mission and continue to serve the families that need us most. We're grateful for your generosity."
– Nikki Fehrenbach, CEO, YMCA of Wayne County
For the Officers, the K9s, and the Veterans
Earlier this year, Wayne County Sheriff's K9 Vick was shot in the line of duty while responding to a call in Rittman. He survived, and the community rallied around his recovery and the K9 Fund that supports him and the unit's next dog. Wooster CDJR gave $2,500 to that fund, alongside contributions toward equipment, veterinary care, and ballistic vests for the K9 unit.
We also gave $300 through the Sheriff's Office to Safetypup, a child-safety education program run by the National Child Safety Council.
Every year, we donate to Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 94 in support of Shop with a Hero. The program pairs area kids with officers, first responders, and military members for a holiday shopping trip.
For veterans, we provide a vehicle each year to VFW Post 1081 for the Wooster Memorial Day Parade, a tradition that has run for at least 60 years. We're also an active member of Wooster Rotary, contributing several donations each year. The club's Parade of Flags, which we join annually, lines tree lawns across town with American flags.
When a Wayne County Family Needs a Hand
For five consecutive years, Wooster Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram employees have taken part in the Adopt-A-Family Christmas program through Wayne County Job & Family Services. Staff personally shop for the household items and holiday wish-list gifts each family needs. It is not a company check. It is our people spending their own money and their own Saturdays.
In 2025, we bought a steer at the Wayne County Fair, paid to have it processed, and donated all of the meat to the Wooster Hope Center food bank.
Our team has supported The Village Network too, through donations and event sponsorships. The Village Network is a Wooster-based organization that has provided counseling and residential care for at-risk youth and families since 1946.
Fair Week Is a Big Deal Around Here
The Wayne County Junior Fair is one of the largest gatherings of 4-H participants in Ohio. The 2025 fair drew roughly 1,400 youth exhibitors, and the livestock sale raised about $2.02 million for them.
Every year, Wooster CDJR buys either a market hog or a steer at the Junior Fair Livestock Sale. That money goes straight back to the student who raised the animal, and it often funds next year's project or a college savings account. We have supported the Wayne Holmes Soap Box Derby as well.
We Put Up the Jeep. Habitat Built the Houses.
For two years running, Wooster Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram provided a brand-new Jeep® Compass as the grand prize for a fundraiser held by Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County. Habitat organized and ran the raffle and kept every dollar it brought in, putting the proceeds toward building and repairing affordable homes for local families.
"Thank you so very much for allowing us to have the opportunity to raffle off a Jeep from your dealership. We had a profitable first attempt at this type of fundraiser and we certainly could not have done it without you."
– Beth Weaver, Executive Director, and Aaron Cochrell, Assistant Director, Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County
We sponsor the Heart & Ghoul 5K as well, the annual costumed race through downtown Wooster that benefits United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties.
